January 2014 Activities Summary

Well we have made it through to a soggy February !

Things slowed down a bit in January after our hectic end to 2013.

We celebrated Elvis’s Birthday with decorations and Elvis music from The Sun Studios. Reflexology, Quizzes and Flower arranging…always a favourite…were enjoyed.

Gemma continues her very special discussions weekly. She spends lots of time investigating her subject for the week and the ladies and gentlemen very much look forward to these sessions.

Lucy continues her Activities on a regular basis twice weekly finding out which resident wishes to do certain things…again this is proving very popular.

We celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Horse on 31st January….again with decorations, Chinese Music and not forgetting a lovely menu from Chris for those who wanted to sample the food. A lovely daughter of a resident brought in some Fortune Cookies for everyone as well which was lovely.

The highlight must have been the Celebration of 6 years of Valerie Manor…my how time flies…a lovely cake was presented to Zoe which was washed down with some bubbly. Many families joined us to toast the success of the Manor….such a lovely, happy atmosphere with management, staff and residents…’one big happy family’ was mentioned more than once during the afternoon.

John and I would like to congratulate Zoe, her Robin, Management and all the staff who work together so very well to ensure a safe and happy environment for everyone.

See you next month when I shall be letting you know about the ‘hitch hiking’ and motor biking experiences of a couple of residents….watch this space !
