Valerie Manor Gardens and a new toy
Some of you may know that our gardens were affected by the recent high winds and damaged some of the furniture and trees. The recent good weather has made us all spring into action and come up with an action plan to ensure the gardens are enjoyable and safe for the residents, staff and their visitors to enjoy!
The arches and pergola kindly donated to us last year have now been fixed into the ground with concrete and the paths all washed down and re-stoned following the flooding. Fence panels have been replaced and secured and the wind chimes and features will be going back up again soon – the only things that kept standing were the lovely two robins on the grounds – still bobbing around!
Now, I am very excited about our new toy (see pictures above)….. when Alan suggested a sit on lawn mower I was not sure who was more excited, myself, Alan or his dad Richard! I was delighted when it was delivered that neither of them were here so I got to have the first ride! Richard soon arrived and took over the management of the lawnmower and has made the neighbouring land look lovely which hopefully the residents will also soon be able to enjoy as it has lots of wild flowers – even better, the rabbits do not appear to like the wild flowers!
I do hope you all enjoy the gardens this year – we had out first lunch outside…….It always makes me smile when I see the residents outside enjoying the fantastic views and fresh air.
