February/March Activities Summary 2015

Hello Everyone,

February and March
You are getting 2 for the price of one this month ! I am so sorry but there has been so much going on that my February Blog somehow did a runner from me !

So here we go….
The usual regular Activities were on offer in February…Tai Chi, Flower Arranging with Joyce which is always a favourite, Indoor Bowling with Nick and Exercising from your chair ending with Reminiscing with favourite music and having a chat about years gone by.
We celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Goat with decorations Chinese Music and a lovely Chinese meal cooked by Chris for those who wanted it.
Favourite places to visit in London were discussed…Kew Gardens, London Museums and the Millennium Wheel were mentioned.
Instruments played in younger years were mostly Piano and Violins. Many ladies used to enjoy singing and love our sing-a-longs.
Holidays and living abroad were another topic of conversation…One lady lived in Dubai where her husband worked. A 6 month trip around Australia and New Zealand by Plane, Coach and Trains held many memories.
Cycling in France for 3 weeks visiting different hotels where usually their bicycles had to be carried to their rooms for safety. They also took a Tandem to Cornwall. Our Yorkshire Lass enjoyed holidays on a farm in Scarborough where she used to collect eggs.

March started off well with a St.David’s Day Quiz and decorations, exercising and flower arranging and then we enjoyed Zoe’s special 40th Birthday. We also enjoyed Tai Chi and a pre-Easter visit from Reverend Challis and Stephanie his curate.

We are looking forward to the Easter Weekend when hopefully weather permitting everyone will be joining staff organising the display of Poppies, kindly donated by a family, from the Tower of London Display ….at last !

Here is to a lovely Spring !
