August Activities Summary 2015
Cannot really believe it is September…a bit of a chill in the air already.
So what have we been up to at the Manor…we remembered the 70th Anniversary of VJ Day with music from 1945 and enjoyed the Music from the 2005 Edinburgh Military Tattoo. We celebrated Cowes Week with a Nautical Quiz and another week a General Knowledge Quiz was on offer for those who wanted to take part. Nick visited for a Skittles Session and Tai chi was also on offer.
For the past couple of weeks the Reminiscence Session has taken the form of various music from days gone by which has been requested by Residents. It is lovely to see memories awakened when a certain song or piece of music is played and then having Staff joining in with songs that they know….most of them are too young to remember many of the songs we play!
During the few sunny days many lunches were enjoyed outside. We enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon for the Garden Party. Everyone worked so very hard as usual to make the afternoon special for Residents and Guests. I would like to thank the girls and parents from Let’s Dance who once again gave up their time to entertain….Children and Adults will be back again in December!
Once again huge Congratulations to Zoe and all the Staff at Valerie Manor for becoming the first Care Home in West Sussex to receive an Outstanding Rating from the Care Quality Commission… thoroughly deserved ! John and I are very proud of you all… especially our girl !
