Food and Menu Review
We were delighted to receive an invitation from one of our suppliers to attend an event at the Brighton Amex Stadium this week. Jim, our resident co-coordinator for recent menu changes was thrilled to come along and asked if Joyce, one of our carers and Martyn, our full time hospitality assistant could also join us. This allowed us to have a varied view from residents and staff to get their opinions on the food here at Valerie Manor.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable day which started off with mulled wine and mince pies prior to speaking to lots of exhibitors throughout the event and coming home with lots of samples and ideas for our new Autumn and Winter menus.
Another reason for going was to chose our Christmas Tableware which we also did as a group and now have our crackers and serviettes on order!
Jim, as you may recall from previous blog entries used to sail and is currently teaching me some knots for my forthcoming Day skippers course so I thought where better to take him for lunch than our local Sussex Yacht Club. It was so lovely to hear more of Jim’s stories about his adventures on the water and to see him so happy overlooking the River in Shoreham By Sea. Thank you also to all the staff who looked after us so well at the Yacht Club as always.
We look forward to seeing the new menus soon and testing all the new and exciting ideas here at Valerie Manor.
