Brighton Marathon 2016
This Sunday saw me run (and complete!) my 4th Brighton Marathon and whilst it wasn’t a personal best, I was pleased to finish as my training was partly affected with my injury from last years race.
I crossed the line in 4 hours and 20 minutes and have to say what a brilliant atmosphere I experienced before, during and after the race.
I struggled around Shoreham Power station as it involves running away from the finish and there are large parts of it that for obvious reason that have no spectators to cheer the competitors on. It was at this stage I thought about Dear Yvonne and why I had committed to running the marathon in her memory.
I must say that running in a bright yellow top (Yvonne’s favorite colour) certainly get’s you noticed and throughout the course I was cheered along by everyone.
Finally – thank you to everyone that sponsored me – I know St Barnabas House will put these funds to excellent use.
