Farewell to Reverend Challis
We were very sad last week to say a fond farewell to Reverend Challis. Reverend Challis has been visiting Valerie Manor for nearly 8 years now so we were all very sad to say goodbye. So much support has been appreciated over the years by residents, relatives, staff and myself – he really has helped us through some difficult times.
We also have so many happy memories of visits – every year Reverend Challis and some of his congregation and their families come to Valerie Manor to give Communion to those who would like it and then we all thoroughly enjoy singing Carols followed by mince pies and mulled wine.
We were also privileged that Reverend Challis made a speech at the opening of our New Nursing Wing along with Dame Vera Lynn.
We would like to wish Reverend Challis and his family all the very best and very much look forward to him coming back to take our Marriage Ceremony in December.
