I was delighted recently when a resident asked me to move the position of the raised flower planter that we were given some years ago to allow them to maintain their hobby of gardening. Another resident was talking to me about the bird feeders and said that they would be very happy to manage these around the gardens – this made my day! We set to work and moved the bird food to make it more accessible for our resident and moved the raised flower planter to allow residents to sit around and become involved.

Clare, our wonderful gardener cleared the planter of all of its old plants and placed them in our gardens and Catherine set to work asking residents over the weekend what they would like to plant! By the following week – my word it was all planted!

Things like this make me so happy and make me realise why I wanted to own and manage my own home to enable things like this to happen quickly to brighten up the lives of our residents. To have such fantastic staff taking this forward with me is just so rewarding.

As you can see – we had some green fingers for the morning and some relatives who also helped us!
