October Activities Summary
Well…the clocks have taken our hour of sunshine so plunged into darkness earlier !
Having said that today has been absolutely beautiful once the mist lifted…really warm and sunny encouraging quite a few of our ladies and gentlemen to visit the lovely garden taking in the Autumn flowers and beautiful colours of the trees.
A subject of Reminiscence was favourite TV Programmes enjoyed over the years…..many having watched the new ‘box’ with neighbours who had this wonderful new machine !
Some favourites….Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth, The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan filmed at Portmeirion…..’I remember a big ball chasing him !!’ commented one lady. Dixon of Dock Green on Saturday evenings, The Good Old Days, Upstairs and Downstairs with Hudson, Rose and Mrs Bridges, Crossroads, ( do you remember the wobbly scenery ?) Goodnight Sweetheart, Only Fools and Horses…especially when Del Boy and Rodney were running about as Batman and Robin ! The Last of the Summer Wine, Norman Wisdom also the many Carry On Films. One lady said that Poldark was not as good this time around ! A lovely reminiscence was shared when the Revolving Stage on Sunday Night at the London Palladium was mentioned…oh and Eric and Ernie was also a favourite.
Music that we have enjoyed over the last month on Mondays included….Cats the Musical, The Polperro Fishermen’s Male Choir, 1950’s favourites, Glenn Miller to name but a few.
We enjoyed some Halloween goodies after our session on 31st….I was going to fly in on my broomstick but the bristles fell off !!
