September Activities Summary

At last I am here !

Sorry if you have been looking for me but have only been able to attend with our ladies and gentlemen twice in September due to various commitments.

Again as well as exercising from our chairs we have been singing along to favourite tunes…a lovely version of  ‘I Only Have Eyes for You’ by Al Jolson was a favourite as well as Anne Skelton ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley

Square’  Mario Lanza’s ‘O Solo Mio’ and Nat King Cole’s ‘Unforgettable’ found us either singing, humming or swaying along.  All of these were from the CD…..The 1940’s Nostalgia Collection.

Whilst chatting memories came flooding back about living in Storrington and between 1942 and 1944 working in the walled gardens of Parham House keeping the area tidy.  This lovely lady loves flowers and often helps with the Bud Vases in the Dining Room.  An Embroidery shop in Rottingdean was a favourite place to visit.  We also talked about televisions being wheeled around the Department in Debenhams !  I think you must agree we all have different memories hidden away… is nice to let them out every now and then !  I remembered being a Member of The Beatles Fan Club in the 60’s and still have the floppy record with their messages on it !

Must try to find it sometime !

We enjoyed a General Knowledge Quiz…some questions easier than others but all were answered either by Residents their visitors or staff !  Could you name all of the 7 Dwarfs ?   The one that we missed was Bashful.

I was lucky I had the answers !

Enjoy the beautiful Autumn Colours and see you next time.
