Valerie Manor is an exceptionally well run care home. During the pandemic its staff and management have operated with a high level of professionalism and care for the residents. Great care has been taken to meet the residents' psychological needs in this crisis, as well as taking every possible step to protect them from infection. This has been a great reassurance in a time of national crisis. Zoe Fry has been nothing short of remarkable in this situation. She has been diligent in keeping relatives up to date with their relative's welfare and the ever changing PHE guidance. We are very grateful to everyone there. June 2020
Our mother has been in VALERIE Manor care home for nearly six years. We have been very fortunate never to have had any worries about the care she has received since she has been there. The staff always go the extra mile to ensure everything possible can be done to make the residents comfortable and all their needs are catered for. The individual needs of each resident are considered according to their physical and mental capacity. Residents are treated with dignity and love and always a great sense of humour.
The staff are warm and friendly and it is clear that they enjoy their roles, VALERIE manor is always full of laughter and fun. As you enter the home there is a feeling of loving care and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The families of the residents are always given a warm welcome with a copious supply of tea and biscuits. Families can stay for meals if they wish and are entertained on special occasions with wonderful spreads of food. The residents are always offered a choice of food and it is beautifully prepared and served.
The owners, Zoe and Alan, are always accessible to the relatives, should the need arise and always strive to do the very best they can to ensure the home is running smoothly. They have been working incredibly hard during the Covid lockdown to ensure the safe and smooth running of the home and also looking after their staff to ensure they have everything they need. They are very conscientious and there is a great deal of forward planning to ease every eventuality. The families are kept up to date on a regular basis and invited to make suggestions towards the care and welfare of the residents.
The managers are always accessible to the families and have a hands on approach within the home. They carry out their roles in a professional manner and have an excellent knowledge of the residents in their care. They are both caring and conscientious in their approach but also have a good sense of humour and fun.
Relatives are contacted immediately if there are any problems with their relative and always kept up to date. Until the lockdown, there were no restrictions on visiting times.
It is a pleasure to visit VALERIE Manor and there is an atmosphere of love, caring and fun. We have been incredibly fortunate to have had our mother cared for in such a wonderful place. The staff have been like a family to us and we miss them all during this strange lockdown. All the staff at VALERIE manor contribute to making it a very special place. May 2020
Happy to be part of the Valerie Manor Team / family at the end of what would be a 48year nursing career. To know that any concerns I have are always promptly dealt with i.e. issues or problems with residents or staff etc – could not have better management and thank you for all your support.
I really enjoy being a member of the Valerie Manor Care Team. I think that we have a very good hardworking team that takes pride in the high-quality care that it provides.
Amazing team, sometimes our days are long, hard and challenging but we all manage to keep each other smiling!
Our dear Aunt has always said how very happy she is, in general, with the care and attention she receives at Valerie Manor.
Of course, on rare occasions, as with any such Home, there may be a problem arise, here or there, but at Valerie Manor, these are always dealt with and remedied immediately, which is very satisfying.
Personally, we consider Valerie Manor to be an outstanding Nursing Home (we have experienced many) and it has such delightful, friendly, helpful, professional Owners and Staff (all Staff), who go out of their way to make both Residents and their Families/Friends welcome, and it always has such a cheerful atmosphere. It has a real “Family” feel to it.
We have experienced the opposite end of the scale with other Homes where we have friends living, and that makes us so sad.
We always hold up Valerie Manor as being the very best, when speaking of Care Homes with all our relatives & friends.
All our side of the family hold the same opinion as we do about Valerie Manor. Most of us visit our Aunt regularly throughout each year (we come at least once a month) and everyone remarks on the lovely warm, friendly welcome received, the happy, pleasant atmosphere, excellent level and high standards of Care - General, Nursing, Hygiene, etc., - plus all the wonderful variety of activities in which Residents and their families and friends are able to participate. It’s so nice to be able to come and share a delicious Lunch with our Aunt, if she’s not feeling up to going out on the days when we visit her - either in the Dining Room or in the garden - and to join in some of the many Christmas, Easter and Summer Festivities on offer.
Our Aunt’s bedroom is light and airy in summer, cosy and warm in winter, - she loves it’s position and outlook - and the communal rooms, and gardens are lovely, too. Our Aunt so enjoys spending time in the gardens in summer or on a crisp, clear autumn day. She's a great “ fresh air” fan!
In fact, every possible aspect of the Home, from A - Z , is excellent!
Keep up the marvellous work!.
