13th Anniversary

Congratulations Zoe

Today marks the 13th anniversary of Zoe coming to Valerie Manor. Who could have imaged what those 13 years would have in store but throughout this period Zoe’s drive, professionalism and compassion for our residents, their families and the wonderful staff has always been the driving force behind the Home’s success.

As a team we have all been incredible proud to have been the first Care Home in West Sussex to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, not to mention the fabulous awards that the team have been proud to receive.

I should put my cards on the table – it’s Alan, Zoe’s husband who arranged the finance for Zoe to buy Valerie Manor back in 2008 and who I went to for advice when I was made redundant. The conversation went something like…..

“Zoe, I think I know where I would like to work but the Owner doesn’t know I want to work there”

Zoe said ” It’s obvious – you need to tell them!”

I replied ” Zoe I’d like to work at Valerie Manor!”

and the rest they say is history……..

I would also like to thank the entire team for their amazing dedication and kindness in making sure our residents remain safe and well during this extremely difficult time.

A special mention must go to Debs and Lucy for how well they have managed the Home during COVID – it was a huge decision for Zoe to relinquish the role of Registered Manager but Debs has more than proved herself in the role over and over again.

For those of you that have attended any of our ‘events’ you will know I am the annoying one with the camera! – However this has proved worthwhile as the gallery below charts the celebrations of each of the anniversary’s so far!!

Take care, stay safe and let’s hope it’s not to long before invitations are sent for the next ‘Rabbit Hole Club’

Alan x
