Awards Celebrations!

I know the awards were a few weeks ago now but the residents and staff have been busy admiring the trophy that we have received! Well done again to our wonderful nurses!

National Best Nursing Team of 2020

I am absolutely delighted to announce that we have been awarded the National Best Nursing Team of 2020! I could think of a better way to recognise what the nurses at Valerie Manor have been doing keeping everyone safe. The awards had been delayed due to COVID and the decision was made to hold the awards online so that as many people as possible could watch. It was a lovely thing to do as we were able to invite all staff, residents and relatives who were so thrilled to be part of it.

Alan Dedicoat the Host was truly pleased for us having presented trophies to us from previous awards and the cheers that follow!

It is sad that we are not able to celebrate in our normal way however so proud of the Nursing Team – what an achievement!

County Times – Care Home of the Year.

You may be aware that we have been nominated for the County Times Care Home of the Year competition and the good news is that we have made the shortlist!

Everyone at Valerie Manor is so excited especially as it is voted for by local people it would mean so much to do well.

If you would like to vote please collect a copy of the voting page on the table as you enter the restaurant or alternatively please call the Home and give us your permission to enter a vote on your behalf.

Many thanks to everyone who has voted for Valerie Manor so far……and fingers crossed!

GBCA National Awards 2020 – Judging Day.

Following our win in the South East Regional Awards (Best Palliative Care category) Debs, Lucy and I traveled to Birmingham for the judging day for the National Award.

Despite the threat of delay due to bad weather we arrived at the Birmingham International Conference Centre in good time. It was lovely to see so many other Regional Winners.

We believe it went well – especially as after our judges, who were very nice,  commented that they had actually only asked one question but we had answered all the others!

Fingers crossed for the Award evening in March but to be recognised as one of the National finalist is such an achievement in itself.

Well done to everyone.
