David and Angela

I have to mention the last few years of my dad’s life, which he spent at Valerie Manor. He frequently told us how impressed he was with the home and the way he was cared for, how kind and helpful the staff were, how nice the food was, and how nothing was too much trouble. He also frequently marvelled at how this service was provided at the same price as staying in a Bed and Breakfast. I also have to mention that Valerie Manor don’t just look after their residents, but their residents’ families too. It is not an easy thing to watch somebody you love dying, even if that person is receiving the best possible care. In the last week of my dad’s life, I was very moved by the compassion shown by all the Valerie Manor staff to Angela and me. I will never forget how everybody came up and hugged me after our dad had left us. In a world where war and terrorism dominate the news, it is heartening to think that there is a place where human society functions exactly as it should. So, from Angela and me, our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to everybody at Valerie Manor for making our dad’s last years happy and his last days peaceful.
