Owners - Suman & Bindu

Suman & Bindu

Bindu and Suman are the owners of Valerie Manor, committed to ensuring a caring environment for both residents and employees.

Their passion stems from their personal experience with ageing parents, driving them to prioritise the residents’ comfort and security.

Bindu’s 16-year long career in NHS and Suman’s successful background in business and IT, bring a unique perspective to Valerie Manor, creating a home where residents flourish and employees thrive.

Bindu and Suman are family-oriented, enjoying spending time with their two daughters, Ria and Aanya.

I’m a Registered nurse, specialised in elderly care. I have been working in the healthcare sector for 9 years and working at Valerie Manor since October 2022. I have a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and management in Adult care. I am very passionate about working with elderly residents and providing the best care and support for them to enjoy their life as much as possible.
I was born in Romania and lived in the capital city Bucharest until 8 years ago when I moved to England. I am an only child, and I do not have a big family, but I have many friends who I stay connected with. I live in Hassocks with my 4-year-old daughter and my partner who is a retail manager. I prefer sunny and warm weather and I would love to live closer to the sea, however, I enjoy living in a quiet village as well. If I would have the time, I would love to have a dog or a cat as I grew up with pets. In my spare time I like reading, watching documentaries, cooking and dancing. I love travelling and discovering new places, new cuisines and learning about the place’s history.

Deputy Manager

I have worked at Valerie Manor for 15 years, which was my first job in care. I started as a care Assistant and have worked my way up to Deputy Manager.

I have a level 2 and 3 Diploma in Health and social care and a Level 3 in End of life care.

My passion is in End of Life care, as I feel that this is the last thing we can do for a person, to make them comfortable and pain free. To be there for them and their families during their last moments is a comfort for them and us.

I have lived in the local area my entire life, living with my parents in Steyning and then moving to Upper Beeding 11 years ago. I have two brothers and a huge extended family which I love.

I have been with my husband for 21 years and married for 9 years. I have two daughters aged 12 and 8 that like to keep me on my toes.

I love living in a quiet village, which is close to the sea. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends and go on holidays.

I had many happy years working in the education industry as a teaching assistant and then as a secretary which I did for 21 years. Working with parents of children can be very challenging but enjoyable. My daughter is a carer and she talked about how working with elderly people was so rewarding that I thought I would have a change in career. I have worked at Valerie Manor now for 2 years and it has been rewarding and educational at the same time.
I am the youngest of eight children five girls and three boys. I have been with my partner for 31 years but married 18 years. I have six grown up children one boy and five girls and nine grandchildren three boys and six girls. I especially like spending time with my family which is a large one. I enjoy reading, knitting, swimming and making rug carpets. I enjoy family holidays and going on cruises with my husband.
